Dynasty’s United Youth Association, also known as DUYA, is a 501 c3 community-based non-profit organization that operates in the greater Los Angeles community in SPA 6 region under Districts 8 and 9 serving youth ages 5-18. The organization was founded by Dynasty Taylor, a locally known African American social worker, who grew up in the harsh realities of South LA in a neighborhood called, “The Jungles.” Join us as we welcome their founder, Dynasty, to share their story. |

Alex Cornejo is the Senior Manager of Communications at AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles, where he leads strategic storytelling and messaging to amplify the organization’s mission in the emerging blue economy. He brings nearly seven years of experience in nonprofit communications and marketing, with a strong focus on campaigns that raise awareness, drive engagement, and foster collaboration around social and environmental issues. He has also been an active member of Rotary International in Wilmington, furthering his commitment to community service. Alex holds an A.A. in Communications and Media Studies from Long Beach City College and has earned multiple specialized certificates in digital marketing, fundraising, and nonprofit marketing. These credentials support his leadership of cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms. Alex believes that everyone has a remarkable story worth sharing and is deeply engaged in advancing the blue economy and its potential for innovation and impact. |

Our Guest Speaker this week is Lee Stacy. Lee Stacy is a board member of Burbank Sunrise Rotary Club, has a very impressive resume and pistachio farming is his passion and his retirement business. Lee is a retired V.P. of Operations from the aerospace industry. He is a past technical editor for an industry magazine dedicated to IBM business computers and a life member of MENSA. Some things that keep him busy is being as Assistant Governor of four clubs in Rotary District 5280, farming pistachios, lemons and oranges in the San Joaquin Valley as well as many fishing trips a year that he can muster, mostly in Alaska & Pacific Mexican waters.

Founder and CEO Lauren Dennis-Perelmuter has been immersed in the arts for as long as she can remember, earning her B.A. in Fine Art from the University of California, Santa Barbara, her degree in Textile Design from Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design and attended the University of Paris, France for immersive Art History Programs held at the renowned Musee D’Orsay Museum. Lauren is forever grateful to so many who have supported her along the way, encouraging her to create her vision. Having been given creative platforms and opportunities not only as a young child, but as a professional, Lauren has gained tremendous insight, knowledge and education that developing the creative mind is essential to thrive in today’s ever changing world. Lauren knows that every child has magic and talent within. Her mission, along with her extraordinary team, is to create platforms for children to find their own creative amazing selves. |
