“Serve to change lives” is a perfect theme for our Rotary year 2021-2022.  We have lived through one of the most difficult years in our lifetime with so many people suffering personal and professional losses.  We have to do what Rotarians do best “Serve to change lives”.  Our service is needed now more than ever to bring positive change to the lives of those in our communities and in the world.

I am excited about our new Rotary year.  One of my primary goals is to increase membership by 8% or net increase of 165 members.   This increase is in line with Rotary International President Shekhar Mehta’s goal to increase our global membership from 1.2 million to 1.3 million by June 30, 2022.  We can do this! I would like our district to charter at least two new Caused Based Clubs, three Satellite Clubs, and work hard at membership retention.

As we cautiously move toward going back to in person gatherings, my hope is to encourage more fellowship among our fellow Rotarians.  I selected “Be Kind” for our district theme because we can all use more kindness and why not “Be Kind” to everyone?  Remember if our members love their clubs, they will never leave.  So, find out what our members want their clubs to do and to be.  Rotary is all about its members and clubs.

I must reiterate the importance of The Four Way Test  a pillar of Rotary.  These 24 words play an important part in my life and I hope these words that are so befitting continue to be a part of every Rotarian’s life.

I am very proud to be a member of the Rancho Park Rotary Club and so honored to serve our exceptional district along with the incredible Club Presidents and District Leadership Team.  I know our District 5280 is one of the best districts.

“Let’s Do More, Grow More, Dream Big, and Be Kind.”
