A ROTOR-Y MEETING TO REMEMBER
We started our offsite meeting at the Torrance Airport for lunch in the Pilots Boardroom. The Chinese Chicken salad from Lisa’s Bon Apetit was quite tasty- We asked for flights of wine to pair with the meal but they were all out.
We had Amy Zimmerman visit us from the Rotary Club of Redondo Beach to tell us about an opportunity to host a student from the Canary Islands. She joyfully told all about the student and it was quite uplifting to hear. He needs some attention, but there is no need to be a helicopter parent. She also said not to worry a lot about his transportation because she said he could taxi to wherever he needs to be!
After enjoying that short time, we couldn’t hanger’ound because we had to take off to Robinson Helicopter for our tour of the factory.
The first impression was how massive the building was that they manufacture the various models. To get through it, we all kept moving in our individual groups. They would not let us hover for long in any one section.
One memorable experience was meeting Bob. Bob is new at the factory. You see, Bob is a robot. They like him a lot because he’s got a very level altitude, and never squaks back.
A really BIG THANKS to Cindy for setting up this fun and fascinating tour - Props to you Cindy!
