Happy Holidays!! The big week is here so Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, and hope you're celebrating with people you love and enjoying the down time. You deserve it!
Rotarians do incredible work throughout the year and really come together in the holidays and show up for their communities. It's been wonderful to see. A big congratulations to everyone for their service throughout this holiday season and year!
We have a little club business, so here are the updates:
New Member Alert: Amanda Krampert
A new membership application from Amanda Krampert has been approved by the board. This serves as one of the two announcements required per PVP Rotary bylaws. Please send any written objections to membership chair, Julia Parton, by 12/27.
Holiday Music by Duncan
Last week at the club, we were treated to a wonderful Holiday Musical production organized by our own President Duncan.
On that note, this is also a reminder that we are dark this week! There will be no meetings at the club over the holiday weeks.
Don't Forget The District Sunday Brunch Is January 15, 2023
The January 15, 2023 District Sunday Brunch focuses on peace. Our keynote speakers will inspire and show how Rotarians can further peacebuilding.
The Pageant of the Arts is an opportunity for high-school age students to showcase their talents and win significant prizes! The First Place in each contest receives a $1,000 cash prize; Second Place $500; and Third Place $250.
Each Rotary club in District 5280 may send one contestant for each Art. These may be the winners of contests at the club, or simply sponsored.
Timing is important – students should have the winter school holidays and the Spring holidays on which to work on their entries – so start recruiting now!
For more details on the program, including recruitment material and how-to advice, visit the Pageant of the Arts page.
Each spring, 200 high school students from the Greater Los Angeles area meet for 2 ½ days to improve their skills as leaders in their communities. Students participate in experiential learning activities, including active leadership workshops, team building activities, and a RYLA Olympics and talent show. Set high in the San Bernardino Mountains, the camp is breathtaking and completely private, giving the students a peaceful environment in which to learn more about themselves, and their peers.
