What a special and spectacular meeting we had last Friday for the District Governor's visit. Truly, the energy and spirit shown by everyone involved was inspiring and uplifting. The Singing Rotarians made their grand debut and it was everything we hoped it would be. They opened with a spirited God Bless America and closed the meeting with a soulful performance of The Very Thought Of You. Let's not forget that invitations were made by the DG for our new superstar group to sing at the District Breakfast!

Educator Special
Next, Joan Behrens presented the District Governor with an Educator of The Year Pin and clock. A moving moment we're sure was well-received by the former teacher.
New Member Alert
As if the day wasn't exciting enough, we were also thrilled to induct new member Jennifer Addington. Jennifer is the District Director of the Palos Verdes Library District. This editor had the pleasure of sitting next to Jennifer at a recent meeting and knows she is absolutely delightful. We look forward to getting to know you better, Jennifer!

Rotarians Inspiring Hope
DG Olivia Patterson Ryan spoke passionately to the club sharing her inspiring message of hope, challenges for the clubs, and mission for the year.
She opened with her "Rotary Moment," a moving story of her exchange with a homeless woman a few years back. The moral of her story, "There but for the grace of God." She challenged us to acknowledge and recognize that our real job on earth is to be Rotarians Inspiring Hope. She also challenged us to leave a little bit of hope with everyone we meet. This Editor believes we are up for those challenges.
Finally, the DG reminded us that, "The Four way test says we have integrity, that you can trust us, that we imagine a hopeful world waiting for us, and that we must imagine a world full of love, hope, and peace."
