I decided to put the polio stats provided by Rick Mendoza at the top of this newsletter. In past weeks it has been below the commentary, so I changed this up a bit to make sure you don't miss it. You'll see improvements in 2025 over 2024.
Last week we welcomed speaker Mike Talleda, President of Wounded Heroes of America. What started as a desire to help families of 9/11/01 victims has become a powerhouse in helping veterans of the wars that followed. They focus on connecting wounded Iraq and Afghanistan veterans with the resources they need to re-enter and adjust to civilian life.
Lots of work by your fellow PVP Rotarians has been coordinating the effort to collect funds from various local clubs to allow us to provide much needed items for 17 Foster students moving into dorms at CSUDH. Julia and Rick H have been quite helpful in making this happen. Many members have made their own donations and our club has committed up to $1350 beyond those donations, and those from Rotary Clubs of San Pedro, Wilmington and CGD.
