Hope everyone had a nice weekend and is enjoying this delightful weather. There is a lot to report on and tons happening in the district, so let's get into it.
Last Friday, we welcomed Jacki Bacharach, the Executive Director of the South Bay Cities Council of Governments. She shared with us how they provide a leadership forum for South Bay local governments to act collaboratively and advocate for regional issues with a focus on improving transportation and the environment, and strengthening economic impact.
She talked about current major programs including Pallet Shelter Relief for the homeless, the creation of our South Bay Fiber Network, and initiatives around segmenting traffic. For anyone interested, the Annual General Assembly is March 23rd, 2023 and is free and open to the community.

Foundation Celebration Drawing - Get Your Tickets
The Foundation Celebration Drawing is a major part of the fundraising for Rotarians and the Rotary Clubs in District 5280. “Every Rotarian, Every Year,” is the motto of Rotary International encouraging Rotarians to contribute annually to The Rotary Foundation. The individual goal is a minimum of $100 each year for every Rotarian. Rotary District 5280 has for many years reached higher, for a goal of $250 with 100% participation.
Tickets are $10 each and if you purchase 10 tickets you receive two bonus tickets (a total of 12 for $100). In order to incentivize greater participation this year, the winning prizes are significantly higher than in the past! You could be a winner of $7,500, $5,000 or $2,500! Download instructions.
