PVP Rotary Leads Team of

Four Rotary Clubs

to Support Foster Students

Moving into Dorms

When Julia presented the idea of helping foster students  by providing basic necessities needed for their dorm rooms, I said "Anything to do to help foster kids, I'M IN!"  ... And so was our membership. Virginia passed the hat around at the meeting and we quickly raised $250. We knew a lot more was required to fully fund the project, so with the generosity of several of our members giving individually up to $500 and our club contributing a large share, and with support of the Rotary Clubs of San Pedro, Wilmington, and Carson-Gardena-Dominguez, over $6500 was raised to purchase the items needed to give the 25 foster everything they needed in their new dorms.
President Brad Lyon from the Rotary Club of San Pedro joined us at the Red Onion to present a check for $1700.
Susan Addleman, Director of Development at CSUDH also attended our meeting. She was very appreciative of all of the Rotarian generosity.
This Scholar was Quite Excited to receive his gifts!
Special Thanks to Julia for doing the shopping and assembling all of the items into individual bags!

Hollywood Bowl Night!

Big Thanks to Minal for organizing this fun event! It was John Williams Night and many in the audience brought their Lightsabers to wave when the Star Wars music was played. They seemed most excited for the Darth Vader theme.
Also Big Thanks to Julia for securing the tickets from the office of Supervisor Janice Hahn!

A Final Sad Note

We learned that former PVP Rotarian Nancy Crawford recently passed away. Nancy was always so nice and was always a pleasure to be around.
The family will be planning a memorial service for her in Los Angeles. If you message her son Chris at 310-968-0527, he will be sure to keep you apprised of any funeral details.
