Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying a short week. A bit of club business and a reminder that this Friday we're back to a noon lunch meeting. Last Friday, Jennifer Addington shared her craft talk with the club. We learned a bit more about Jennifer, including that she lived all over the world while she was growing up, including Western Africa and Berlin when the wall was up! Ask her about it.
We also enjoyed a wonderful presentation on the PV Library. The PV library system has a long and rich history. They are also doing incredible work for the community, passport services, programs for seniors, an an assortment of fun events and programs. You can even book a room for meetings or to work away from home.

We are back to a lunch meeting this week at the club where we will hear about Amarok Society, which is a Canadian charity operating in Asia and Africa. Incorporated as a federally registered charity in 1992, it was founded by Dr. Tanyss Munro and her husband, G.E.M. Munro, a noted writer, as a support to their efforts to improve educational opportunity for Aboriginal and First Nations students.

How You Can Help Earthquake Survivors In Turkey
The destructive earthquakes in southern Turkey that began on February 6 have led to more than 40,000 fatalities and more than 100,000 serious injuries – horrific impacts which continue to increase. Your donation NOW will help prevent more lives lost, reduce suffering, and help with recovery. We encourage funding Rotary Districts in Turkey who know best what is needed and will be accountable to properly use our support. Here are two ways to give:
Foundation Trustees have established a Disaster Response Fund for Turkey. Projects proposed and led by the three Rotary districts in Turkey will be directly supported by this fund. Your donations are Paul Harris account eligible. Donations are needed to sustain this support as multiple rounds of disaster response grants by Rotarians in Turkey are expected.
You (and your friends) can also contribute to the D5280 Charitable Foundation by through the PayPal Donation link or send a check payable to "Rotary District 5280 Charitable Foundation" and memo "Turkey" to the Rotary District 5280 Office at 8939 S. Sepulveda Blvd., Suite 210, Los Angeles, CA 90045. These funds will be transferred directly to the designated Districts in Turkey or may also support Global Grants.
