Looking Forward to Seeing You This Friday Featuring a Special Program on Resolve to Better Understand!

Would you like to learn how to have an honest open respectful discussion on delicate topics? This Friday, come to our lunch and interactive workshop and learn the difference between a monologue, dialogue and a debate in a useful practical skill building presentation. Dr. Vicki Radel, PDG, our own Peace and Conflict Resolution Chair Geoffrey Nadler, and Rotary Peace Fellow Scott Martin will be leading our group.
 
Dr. Vicki Radel
Dr. Vicki Radel, whose Conflict Prevention/Resolution & Anger Management focused private practice is in Palos Verdes, is also a Rotary Past District Governor steeped in local and global Peace Activities. Author of numerous Peace  focused Rotary grants, created a “Shoot Cameras not Guns” program to inspire at risk youth to become photo journalists, convened an “Anti-Gang Violence Forum”; is involved in abolishing Modern Day Slavery: Sex Trafficking; teaches Conflict Prevention/Resolution and Restorative Justice to elementary and middle school youth and she also holds a “Non Violence post graduate certificate” from the Metta Center whose founder created the “Peace Studies” department at Berkeley. As well as earned a post graduate certificate from Harvard on “Religion and Peace”.
 
Scott R. Martin
Mediator, Architect and Social Entrepreneur
2017 Rotary International Peace Fellow
 
Scott is a professional mediator, an international trainer, and a community dialogue facilitator with a strong commitment to entrepreneurship, sustainability and peace building.
 
Founding Member of Mediators Beyond Borders Int. and former Co-Leader of the Rwanda Team; working with survivors of genocide to develop training in trauma- informed mediation. Scott is now supporting the Cambodia Project focused on using social entrepreneurship to build capacity for local community mediation centers.
Geoffrey Nadler
 
Geoffrey Nadler is the Vice President/Relationship Manager for the Rolling hills Branch of Farmers and Merchant Bank of Long Beach and is currently our club's Peace Chair. To train for this role he attended two separate all day weekend training sessions led by Mediators Without Borders. Since receiving his certification as a Peace Facilitator, he has helped lead peace conversations at several Rotary clubs. He also attends events as directed by the PDG and current District Peace Chair, Dr. Vicki Radel.
