Scholarship Recipients!!
Our Club honored this year’s Rotary Scholarship recipients including Austin Jones (far left) and Sophie Sun (second from right), pictured with Julia Parton and Joan Behrens. Additional Scholarship recipients for this year (not shown) are Peter Chang and Christine Xie. Congratulations to these four outstanding scholars and community leaders!
There are over 70,000 Marines at Camp Pendleton and 10,000 children under the age of 5! More than 160 babies are born there each month! Most families arrive with whatever they can fit in their car. With a very low income, most do not have everything they need for newborns and small children. They have need to furnish an apartment and set up a kitchen.
The Rotary Clubs of District 5280 are collecting new and gently used items for these young families. The families will select what they need from our contributions to the “Warrior Warehouse”.

Music Mends Minds
Your club can be of service as Music Mends Minds celebrates their tenth anniversary by collaborating with LA County to establish free music groups for seniors across Los Angeles, especially in diverse and underserved communities historically left behind by new paradigms in health and wellness. As with Rotary, MMM’s mission is a perfect example of an entire community doing well by doing good.
Please see the linked letter below to visit their website and learn more about Music Mends Minds and how you can help bring the medicine of music to those who need it most.
