Wow, what a weekend we had in Southern California. It hailed at our house so that was exciting. Hope everyone is staying safe and warm in this unusually stormy winter! A reminder that this Friday at the club at noon we have Robby Swoish coming from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) to present. It will be fascinating so don't miss it!

G.E.M. Munro - Amarok Society
Last Friday, we heard from G.E.M Munro from the Amarok Society about all the wonderful work they're doing to build schools for women in Bangladesh. Truly, it was an enlightening presentation that showed how their programs are working, despite having been told the challenges they'd face helping some of the poorest people in the world.
Foundation Trustees have established a Disaster Response Fund for Turkey. Projects proposed and led by the three Rotary districts in Turkey will be directly supported by this fund. Your donations are Paul Harris account eligible. Donations are needed to sustain this support as multiple rounds of disaster response grants by Rotarians in Turkey are expected.
You (and your friends) can also contribute to the D5280 Charitable Foundation by through the PayPal Donation link or send a check payable to "Rotary District 5280 Charitable Foundation" and memo "Turkey" to the Rotary District 5280 Office at 8939 S. Sepulveda Blvd., Suite 210, Los Angeles, CA 90045. These funds will be transferred directly to the designated Districts in Turkey or may also support Global Grants.
